As an Associate at the Law Office of Roy A. List, Mr. Haner practices in the fields of Elder Law and Trial Litigation.
As an Elder Law attorney, Mr. Haner has demonstrated an aptitude in long-term care planning (Medicare and Medicaid), as well as being knowledgeable in all aspects of Article 81 guardianships and Social Security Law.
As a Litigation Associate, Mr. Haner has experience practicing before nearly every court in the State of New York and has a proven track record of success.
Prior to joining the Law Office of Roy A. List, Mr. Haner worked in various law offices in New York City, Long Island, and Massachusetts. He has been involved on both plaintiff’s side and defendant’s side litigation, served a Justice of the Supreme Court, worked in numerous governmental agencies, and served as a legal writer to one of the most influential attorneys and firms in the field of Social Security Disability Law (Binder and Binder).
Mr. Haner continues to publish numerous Elder Law articles and, as a St. John’s law student, served on the editorial board of the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development. Recently, Mr. Haner received the prestigious Dean’s Award for Excellence in Elder Law, which was presented by St. John’s University School of Law.

Justin Tauro’s area of practice focuses on real estate transactions. Working with both buyers and sellers of commercial and residential properties. Mr. Tauro understands the complexities and the stress involved in purchasing or selling a property and has worked with clients to help them through the process. Additionally, Mr. Tauro has experience representing clients large and small, both individuals or corporations.
James E. Darling
James earned his Bachealor of Arts Degree from Ithaca College in 2004 and his law degree, cum laude, from St. John’s University in 2012. He is a member in good standing of the New York and Massacusetts bars. He joined the Law Office of Roy A. List in 2013, and practices Medicaid planning and litigation, landlord/tenant law, and estate planning. He is an active member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations.
